God's Word for You Today

Sometimes, as Christians are in prayer or in study of the Word of God, He leads us to some new insight or speaks a LOUD word to us that we feel we need to share. Has He spoken to you almost audibly lately or laid something on your heart that we all need to hear? This is the page for sharing that Good News.  Please send your message, with reference, to:

A WORD FOR THIS MINISTRY At Its Birth;

...the warfare has begun...but please remember this- "for the weapons of our warfare ARE not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." “How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people!  how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary! She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her; all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies...Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions; her children are gone into captivity before the enemy... The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation...” Lamentations 1:1-2,5,10 KJV

LAMENT

Recently, I returned home from a women’s meeting which I had been invited to visit.  “Liberation” is their platform, which I was unaware of until about 5-10 minutes into its goings on.  The longer I stayed, the more sick at my stomach I felt.  While most of these women were gentile on the outside, the sticky sweetness, combined with their army-like determination, left me feeling... feeling what?  I couldn’t identify what I was feeling, except out of place.

I prayed much that evening and went to bed very early, reading the WORD before falling asleep.  I tossed and turned all through the night, finally collecting myself enough to climb out of bed to EAT UP MORE OF THE WORD OF GOD.  I prayed for direction and release from this... this feeling.  My husband prayed for me and suggested I read about the Armor of God in Ephesians. I did. It wasn’t THE communication with my LORD I needed specificially, although it’s always good to check our “gear” to be sure our armor is in place!

Then God took me to the Lamentations of Jeremiah.  I read the entire book through twice. To me, I saw the USA wherever I read “Jerusalem,” “Zion,” “city,” “Judah,” etc.  I picked up a few other non-related materials and the word “lament” was found (“coincidentally”) there also.  In the morning, my husband read to me from one of C.H. Spurgeon’s sermons~~ the word “lament” was in that text.

Yes! That deep, gut-wrenching, nauseating, dizzy feeling was lament!

“O LORD,[earnestly] remember what has come upon us!  Look down and see our reproach (our national disgrace)!”

            Lamentations 5:1 Amplified Bible

Are you a servant of Christ? Then you know we have no liberation, women nor men.  We are tarred and feathered with original and personal sin, our certain destination being hell forever. However, THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL IS THIS:

Once Christ takes us as His, He is our “brand,” if you will. We, ourselves, have no liberation, never will.  He is our Shepherd; we are His to do with as He pleases.  Our calling is to be a vessel, a bond slave for God.

Praise His Holy Name!  He chose us!

WHICH ONE ARE YOU?

Dear Reader,

My husband and I just recently pulled up the stats concerning activity here on Bitterman’s Banners and we were very happy to see that, of those who stay to look on, they remain here reading for about 8 minutes (an average. Of course, in real numbers, some readers stay much longer and some, sadly, are quicker to leave.) As I contemplate the numbers of those who stay, I wonder: which of the “soils” are you described in what we call “The Parable of the Sower” found in Matthew 13:18-23?

Christ is speaking to his disciples:

“Listen then to the [meaning of the] parable of the sower:

While anyone is hearing the Word of the kingdom and does not grasp and comprehend it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.  This is what was sown along the roadside.

As for what was sown on thin (rocky) soil, this is he who hears the Word and at once welcomes and accepts it with joy; yet it has no real root in him but is temporary (inconstant, lasts but a little while); and when affliction or trouble or persecution comes on account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble [he is repelled and begins to distrust and desert Him Whom he ought to trust and obey] and he falls away.

As for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the Word, but the cares of the world and the pleasure and delight and glamour an deceitfulness of riches choke and suffocate the Word, and it yields no fruit.

As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty.”

Amplified Bible!

This Present USA National Crisis

Where are you in the midst of our trouble? America is presently at war (?fighting ghosts,) we’re held hostage by nations controlling our need for fuel, we are walking a tightrope of financial collapse (AIG, “Fannie Mae” and “Freddie Mac”, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and other HUGE financial entities and corporations are “belly up” and being “bailed out” by the US govt [ie: a crippled taxpaying public!] as I write this) while homeowners are losing the roofs over their heads, and morally we are vile. Our nation is in trouble.

God spoke to Israel as He has been speaking to us today. Will this nation hear and obey?

“Therefore, say unto the house of Israel, ‘Thus sayeth the LORD God; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations. For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from Me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the LORD will answer him Myself: And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I AM THE LORD (emphasis mine.)”

              Ezekiel 14:6-8

“’Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee,: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God and that My fear is not in thee,’ sayeth the Lord God of hosts.”

              Jeremiah 2:19

September 5, 2008 (Republican Convention for nomination of our next President of These United States ended last evening)

* NOTE:  Fibromom and hubby are not Republicans, Democrats, or etc.  We vote the Bible.  Sometimes, we leave many “spaces” blank because “the lesser of two evils” is not necessarily acceptable to Christ.  How do you vote?

Matthew 24:1-42 (Amplified Bible)

Be Not Deceived

Please pick up a Bible and read Matthew 24 in its entirety. I’ll share with you the words that have jumped out at me as God has led me to this impacting chapter of His Word for you TODAY:

vs 1:  “Jesus departed... and was going on His way when His disciples came up to Him... He answered them:...”

Notice that Christ LIVES THE TRUTH as He walks through His day.  He doesn’t have to be all dressed up or in a certain building (in fact, the words following the above statement tell us that the buildings will all be torn down!)  Also note that He is talking to HIS FOLLOWERS here:

vs 4-6:  “Jesus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error.] For many will come in (on the strength of) My name[appropriating the name which belongs to Me] saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many astray.  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled for this must take place, but the end is not yet.”

“When is the end of this world or how will it all end,” you might ask.  Continue reading. Christ spells it out for us.

vs 7- 9 :”For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place; All this is but the beginning [the early pain] of the birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish.] Then they will hand YOU over to suffer affliction and tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

vs 10: “And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another with hatred.”

If you claim Christianity, I PLEAD WITH YOU TODAY to understand that this is the age of apostasy.  This word “apostasy” means a deliberate turning away... it is referring to people who CLAIM to be saved and may even have deceived themselves into believing they are, BUT, when real tribulation (complaciency=trouble) comes, they will be “offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert...”

Sisters and Brothers in Christ, understand that it will happen within your own family, maybe even within your own household. Maybe it already has. LET US HOLD TIGHT TO ONE ANOTHER through these (almost) death blows to our hearts.

USE THE HOLY BIBLE AS YOUR MEASURING ROD FOR EVERYTHING/EVERYONE (including yourself) CLAIMING CHRISTIANITY.   If things aren’t measuring up;  if we all don’t strive to live ONLY by the INSPIRED WORD OF GOD AS WRITTEN IN THE SCRIPTURES (nothing added, nothing taken away), we will be deceived, my Friend. In the end, we will NOT be overcomers (I encourage you to do a study of that word throughout the Scriptures.)

Pray with a repentant heart that the Holy Spirit will take over your life, directing your path in THESE END TIMES.

Father God, All-powerful and All-knowing and All-loving Creator, I come to You asking that You bring Your children to our knees, having our sins illuminated by Your light of Truth in Your Scriptures.  I ask for forgiveness for the wretchedness of this nation (the USA), a nation that You gave so much opportunity in which to share (through love in action) the Truth about Your sacrificial blood to the world beginning in our own households and neighborhoods. Instead, we have become spoiled, pampered whiners, self-absorbed and greedy for more and more of this and that when our hearts should be agonizing over the SPIRITUAL DEATH ALL AROUND US.

People need YOU! They were made in Your image to have sweet relationship with You.  Press this fact into our beings, LORD, and show us

      in this late hour

how we can be Your voice.

In the Perfect Name of Christ,         Amen

WHAT EXACTLY IS SAVED? SAVED FROM WHAT?

“How do I know for sure that I’m saved/REDEEMED/going to heaven to live forever with God?” you might be questioning.  Are you SERVING WITH A SOLD-OUT HEART the Only Begotten Son of God, fully man and fully God, Who shed His unblemished, perfect blood so that your sins (WHICH CAST YOU INTO HELL FOR ETERNITY) can be seen no more by God?  When THE ONLY TRUE GOD looks on you, does He see Christ in your stead? If your answer is “YES, PRAISE GOD!” then I celebrate LIFE with you!  If your answer is anything but “yes,” you are in trouble, my friend.  Please contact any one of us (see our testimonies on the Prayer Closet page) and we will weep for you and pray with you if you so desire.

TO SERVE OR NOT SERVE CHRIST THE MESSIAH: THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION OF YOUR LIFE.

Luke 21:16, 28, 34 (Amplified Bible)

You will be Betrayed

“You will be delivered up and betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends and [some] of you they will put to death.

“... Now, when these things begin to occur, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (deliverance) is drawing near.

“But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose.”

The Parable of the Sower

Matthew 13: 3-9

[as seen through spiritual eyes today!]

Studying from the Amplified Bible, my [Fibromom] (enlightened) interpretation of this message, God’s Word FOR YOU today is:

“A sower went out to sow...”

This person knows sowing; he’s not out wandering aimlessly, throwing (the Gospel) here, there and everywhere, wasting his precious energy, resources and seed (for food, for FIRSTFRUITS!)

“As he sowed, some fell (in places not prepped for planting)...”

The seeds on the roadside, rocky ground and among thorns were not purposefully (wastefully) poured out there, the (then silly, foolish) sower expecting a good result. NO!

“Other seeds fell on good soil, and yielded grain (food! Excellent production!)-- some a hundred times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, some thirty.”

Seeds planted on soil ripe for receipt will produce way more fruit than the number of seeds planted!

My life is a good example of this promise: very little seeds planted, almost none in my childhood years. Yet, the few seeds of BIBLICAL TRUTH tossed (perhaps even incidentally!) my way were swallowed up and watered and valued as precious to produce “a hundred times as much as was sown.” My heart’s desire, for almost my entire life, has been to serve my God and know Him more intimately.  WHERE DID THAT DESIRE COME FROM?  The Holy Spirit, Who came to dwell in me when I was so young and tender and “ripe for the planting!!!” (Please see my testimony of God’s work on my life in the “Prayer Closet” pages on this site.)

“He who has (spiritual) ears [to hear], let him be listening and let him consider and perceive and comprehend by hearing.”

Believers in Christ, let’s pray together now for the “fields ripe for planting and harvest” around the world today:

Father God, Perfect and Holy and All-powerful, I come to You with a heart full of energy and encouragement on behalf of the lost souls on this globe who are seeking Truth but and being tripped up.  Father, lead those who are soon to be Yours to this website this very day and let them have spiritual “ears to hear” and feel and realize the love that only You can give. Have them come to You humbly, broken in sin, and on their knees, weeping in repentance and pleading for You to forgive them and to wash them clean and to lead them into an Everlasting, FRUITFUL Life with You.

Praise You, my LORD, Savior, Friend, Physician, Comforter, my Everything,

    Amen

A friend writes:

I have been thinking of 1 Corinthians 15: 55 since [my daughter] phoned me last night. It reads: "O Death, where is your victory? O Death, where is your sting?" Jesus has overcome Death by His death on the cross and His resurrection. He took the sting out of death. And the life that awaits us in Heaven can't even be comprehended by our finite minds. All we need know now is that this life is only temporary and what we do with Jesus will determine where we spend the next one, called Eternity. Jesus provided for all that we need. All we need to do is accept it.

August 15, 07 A friendly reader sends God’s encouraging Word to us today:

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching."  Hebrews 10 v 23 - 25

FRIDAY, 7/27/07 Yankees sends these encouraging words:Sometimes, the best thing we can say to Jesus is "Nevertheless." It's saying , "In spite of it all, I'll do it!" Each of us will face times when the trial is great- nevertheless, we trust Him; times when the way is steep- nevertheless we take the next step; times when our reasoning says it won't work- nevertheless, we respond in obedience; times when all we see is darkness- nevertheless, we move on in hope. Roy Lessin

"And Simon answering said unto him, 'Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: NEVERTHELESS at Thy word I will let down the net.' And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake." Luke 5:5,6

Friday, June 29, 2007  Fibromom has been deeply distressed and anxious, knowing that soon she will be in the midst of her enemies, people who have had authority over her and/or mask themselves as allies (she suffers from PTSD as a result.)  Today, God has actually described in detail how she is feeling AND has heard her cries! He tells her in Isaiah 59-60 (KJV) [un-italicized underlined words are replaced by Fibromom to personalize this message]:

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear:... None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth:  they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.  They hatch cocatrice’s (adders’) eggs, and weave the spider’s web:  he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.  Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

The way of peace they know not;  and there is no judgment (justice) in their goings: they have made crooked paths: whosoever goeth therin shall not know peace. Therefore is judgment (justice) far from me, neither doth justice overtake meI waited for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but I walked in darkness. I groped for the wall like the blind, and I groped as if I had no eyes;  I stumbled at noon day as in the night;  I was in desolate places as dead men. I roared like a bear and mourned sore like a dove:  I looked for judgment (justice), but there was none; for salvation (a way of deliverance), but it was far off from me.

Yeah, truth faileth; and she that departeth from evil maketh herself a prey (an easy victim): AND THE LORD SAW IT, AND IT DISPLEASED HIM THAT THERE WAS NO JUDGMENT!!!!!!..... According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies...

Chapter 60

ARISE, shine!!!!! for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.  For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen and Amen! Praise God, the All-knowing, All-powerful, Ever-present help in time of trouble!

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 Carolyn (Yankees) quotes from a reading she recently came across by Roy Lessin:

"It is Jesus' journey with the cross and His crucifixion upon Golgotha's hill that opens our understanding to the meaning of love at its deepest level. Salvation is our free gift that cost Jesus everything- His brokenness means that we can be made whole; His sorrow means that we can have fullness of joy; His rejection means that we can be accepted; His pain means that we can be healed; His death means that we can have life everlasting."

Fibromom,

I was praying last night and I opened my bible to read; the verse I came upon was as if a message for you is:

"Do you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your Spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

I realize that I need to be doing more to help myself as well and have been doing a lot of study in that area, trying to come up with something just for me...

I pray about this all the time asking God to guide my footsteps and to give me the tools I need to help myself heal so that I might become a better servant to Him. I have to be open and authentic with myself and stop hiding from the past.

February 23, 2007 A Friend shares a forward she received that we should all ponder:

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some people in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I
see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

February 15, 2007 Fibromom reads in Revelation 2 and 3:  “To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God... Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life...

“He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death... To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it...

“And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers [small pieces]: even as I received of my Father.  And I will give him the morning star...

“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels...

“Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out:  and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches” [members of the body of Christ.]

February 3, 2007 Carolyn (Yankees) writes:

You have asked that I share any Bible verses/passages with the group and our readers and I would like to do so this morning with this particular story from Luke 7:36-47. At the end of the story I would also like to pass along to everyone a thought-provoking and soul-stirring perspective of the story from a particular writer and artist named Brian Jekel.

"Then one of the Pharisees asked Him (Jesus) to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat. And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, "This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner." And Jesus answered and said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." So he said, "Teacher, say it." "There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell me, therefore, which of them will love him more?" Simon answered and said, "I suppose the one whom he forgave more." And He said to him, "You have rightly judged." Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon. "Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little."

Author Brian Jekel writes that "even though this woman was an outcast in society, she had more insight than those who claimed to be righteous. She saw beyond the opinions of men and touched the heart of God. The deepest part of her spirit understood the depths of Jesus' love. His mercy moved her to tears, His worthiness moved her to sacrifice, His forgiveness moved her to worship, and His loveliness moved her to true and complete devotion."

Please think upon these things, my friends, in these last days, just before our Lord Jesus' blessed and glorious coming. If you love Him much and your sins are many, they can be forgiven if you will only ask and believe. And- if you love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, please ponder upon the depth of Jesus' love. Sometimes it is almost incomprehensible it is so awesome and boundless! And indeed, oh, His mercy will move you to tears, His worthiness will prod you to selflessness, His sweet unconditional forgiveness will make you fall on your unworthy knees to worship at His feet and above all else, His loveliness, His beauty, will move your heart and soul to pure, passionate obsession of Him.

FaithAlways needed encouragement for a weakness she was experiencing.  God led her to Romans 8:26:

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself prays for us with groans that words cannot express.

In a book entitled Rooted In God’s Love c. 1991 by Dale and Juanita Ryan, she reads:

When we are alone, when our private terrors have left us without the ability to speak, when even the simplest of prayers ["Help!"] is more that our weary hearts can muster - those are the times we need God's Spirit most of all. It is life itself to know that God pays attention to us. The Spirit of the Living God is with us and is attentive to our weakness. God does not shame us for our weakness. Our weakness is not a bad thing to God. Our weakness is simply a reality. The Spirit's response to our weakness is to help us.
God is on our side. The Spirit knows us and loves us. God knows the pain that crushes us. God helps us in our weakness.
In those moments when we have been silenced by life, the Spirit prays for us. The Spirit prays with groans for which there is no language. When we are not able to pray we can find comfort and hope in the promise that the Spirit is praying for us.

Oh God
I need to be reminded when I feel so absolutely alone that you know my pain, you know my weakness.
When I come to the end of words,
when my mind is full of confusion,
help me to remember that you pray for me.
When I am overwhelmed with despair,
when I want to give up,
when I want to run away in fear,
it is only your presence,
gentle, powerful Friend,
that gives me hope and strength.
I need your help today.
I need you to pray for me.
Amen

10) Be Still ( let go, quit holding on to things that keep you from exalting God and giving Him proper place in your life) and know that I am God. I will be Exalted in the earth. 11) The Lord of hosts is with us: the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

I know that God is ALWAYS available to His people and He wants us to call on Him in time of trouble any time we need His help, for He is sufficient for any situation and never leaves our side, thus we need not FEAR!

December 16, 2007 a friend shares from a book entitled The Master Is Calling by Lynn Hammond:

Do you ever get to a point where you feel like you are just going through the motions, you pray but you feel like your prayers are getting no where? You know the scriptures and when Satan comes you combat him with the word, but it seems like it doesn't work. Well let me give you a little piece from this book.

"Many of us have recognized the truth it takes faith to receive from God, so we've studied the word, confessed particular scripture over and over and memorized every key to success. Yet many times, instead of causing us to flourish in faith and prayer our endeavors have left us dry and spiritless. Why is that? It is because we can't have real faith by just knowing principles. Real faith comes from knowing the person behind the principles. That's why the Apostle Paul in his great statement of faith when he wrote "I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded, that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him against that day" 2 Tim 1:12. Paul did not say I know "what" I believe, he did not say I know the principles and steps I have believed. He said I know the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ! Faith and fellowship with God are inseparable!"

This to me is just awesome and it is only the beginning of the book. I have been struggling for so long with this very thing. I even have little sticky notes of scriptures sticking up all over. Which is well and good but with out a good solid relationship with Him it will be fruitless! I am looking for a change when I get done with this book!!

December 15, 2006 a friend writes:

I have faith that God will provide me with the strength I need. I have faith that God will never forsake me, but I have a hard time with having faith in myself. I don't feel up to the task a lot of the time. Jeremiah 1: 6-8 says:

"Ah Lord God! behold! I cannot speak, for I am a child!”

" But the Lord said unto me, ‘Say not, ‘I am a child;’ thou shall go to all that I send thee and whatsoever I command thee, thou shall speak. Be not afraid of their faces; for I am with thee to deliver thee,’ saith the Lord.”
